These terms apply to your use of the Beauty Cosmetic Scanner iOS app. By using the app you agree to them.
What the app does
- Beauty Cosmetic Scanner gives informational assessments of cosmetic products based on their composition and the profile you entered, and visual assessments of a photo you take.
- It is not a medical device and does not replace advice from a doctor or dermatologist. If you have a skin reaction, a persistent condition, or any medical concern, consult a specialist.
- Nothing in the app is a recommendation to stop or start a medical treatment.
Accuracy and limits
- Scores are produced transparently from open ingredient data and the profile you gave. We take no payment from brands to influence a rating.
- Ingredient data can be incomplete or out of date, and a photo can be misread — always check the product's own label before using it.
- Results from a photo depend heavily on lighting and angle, and are an indication rather than a measurement.
Subscription
- Beauty Cosmetic Scanner Pro is an auto-renewing subscription offered as a weekly, monthly or yearly plan. The exact price is shown in the app before you confirm.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- It renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel at any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Purchases can be restored on a new device with Profile → Restore purchases.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard terms.
Acceptable use
- Use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer it, resell its results as a commercial analysis service, or use it to make claims about a product's safety on behalf of a business.
- Only upload photos you have the right to use.
Content and licences
Ingredient data is used under the Open Database License from Open Beauty Facts. Brand names and product names belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the product being analysed. The app itself and its design remain the property of the developer.
Liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any outcome of a cosmetic product you chose to use or avoid based on information in the app. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the app changes; the current version always lives at this address, with the date shown above.
